Project Description
Objects and images can stimulate memory as much as places. They unlock history, enliven the spirits. It is personal, accessible, meaningful, relevant; “things” make our cultural heritage real by (re)awakening our awareness of traditions and relationships through the senses. To bring together place, collections and stories makes for a holistic, immersive experience unlike any other. Cultura has always promoted these when focussing on historic places and the life they represent. All of its own building projects have yielded objects whose provenance is the essence of a story, an experience, education, training, social (re) collection; tradition as an inter-generational “pass it on”. We also appreciate that this nurtures physical and mental wellbeing. Camp Farm, Maryport and Gayle Mill in the Yorkshire Dales are our current front line in these journeys of discovery. Join us where you are.
